The Grit, though, can make all these things a little easier. We designed the Grit with a custom blend of robust Reynolds 853 main frame. Each size frame includes tubing specifically engineered for that size, thus not comprising any strength or stiffness. The steel, geometry, and the frame design give you a feel for the trail you’ve never had on bikes made from other materials, and you’ll find yourself whipping through corners and flying up hills. The Grit, handmade in Taiwan, can be run as a single speed or with gears thanks to the sliding rear dropout. And tire clearance tops out at a chunky 2.3 inches. We made the Grit for racers, all-day adventurers, and anyone who wants to explore local trails, far beyond where the road ends and embrace the challenges and scenery of a place only a mountain bike can take you.
