THUMBIES 7/8" - thumb shifter mounts for mountain bike bars.<p></p><p>These are designed to be used with <strong>indexed</strong> Shimano bar end (aka <em>barcon</em>) shifters. These 8, 9, and 10-speed indexed shifters are readily available, and these shifters also still have a friction option for everything else.</p><p>Admittedly, we weren't sure at first if these would be a good thing or something kind of gimmicky. But upon testing them, it was love at first ride.</p><p>Not only did the thumb shifting action of old come instantly back, it did so in a way never before imagined. The bike shifted more precisely and smoothly than ever before. Better in our opinoin then trigger and twist shifters.</p><p>Installation is easy and straight forward. They do not include the shifters; you must provide them.
